The name Dearfoams has been synonymous with comfy casual slippers, and they're still going strong. The first, immediate impression of Dearfoams is their ultra-comfortable leisure slippers, but the origins of this brand began in World War II. A housewife/inventor, Florence Zacks Melton was looking for a material to make detachable shoulder pads for women's military fashions, so she visited the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company to look for new materials. Firestone presented foam latex to her as a possibility, but she didn't feel that it was suited to shoulder pads. With a creative, innovative twist, she designed the world's first soft cushioned slipper with foam soles. Overwhelming demand for these slippers quickly put shoulder pads on the "back burner," and leisure footwear became the R.G Barry company's premier business.
Selected styles of Dearfoams' casual slippers now include memory foam cushioned insoles that contour to your feet via body heat, giving you the perfect slip-ons to wear around the house, down to the mailbox or beyond. Soft jersey knits, quilted velour, microfiber terry, sweater knits and microsuedes form the uppers, in fashion colors and patterns to suit every taste. Many styles have faux sherpa and fleece linings for warmth in chilly weather. And if your feet are warm, you're likely to be much more comfortable in cold weather. Open and closed toe scuffs and clogs provide a secure, comfortable fit.
Dearfoams are very affordable and make wonderful gifts, especially during the holidays. HerRoom is pleased to add Dearfoams footwear to wear with our famous maker sleepwear for your total lounging comfort.
